History

Austria, the center of Habsburg Empire that constituted as the second largest state in Europe. It was established in accordance with the treaty of St. Germain in 1919. Austria was occupied by Germany in march 1938 and was incorporated into the German Reich, which was commonly known as the Anschluss. Though the Allied forces liberted Austria in april 1945 it gained independence from all occupation forces in october 25, 1955.

The Astro-Hungarian empire occupied strategic territory in the southeastern routes to western Europe and also the routes between Germany and Italy, which it retains to the present day. The people mainly speak German with two significant minority groups the Slovenes in Carinthia and Croats in Burgenland.

Austria’s Alpine : the beautiful snow scapped mountains, the perfect setting for skiing and many wintersports. Caves & Mines : there are number of caves and interesting mines to be explored with additional children programmes.
